We really appreciate that around fifty people engaged with the prompts, and that every attendee of the SANS Conference 2026 Special Session listened as their colleagues shared personal stories. Here are some experiences that were shared by conference registrants in attendance:

After the conference, we also received feedback to say that speaking so openly about caregiving was compassionate, new, and for some even deeply uncomfortable.
As the Transformation Committee, we would like to continue these necessary though often difficult conversations around caregiving, institutional policies for leave, personal advocacy in professional spaces, and general peer support… beyond the conference. We warmly welcome SANS members (and friends of SANS members) to join the online āSpace for Sharingā which we will host once a quarter. Information about this will be posted on this page.
Please engage with the SANS Transformation Committee Statement ahead of your registration for this and any other SANS sessions.
