BRAIN MATTERS: THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE OF NEUROSCIENCE IN SOUTHERN AFRICA

The DST-NRF Centre of Excellence in Human Development, the Johannesburg Institute for Advanced Study (University of Johannesburg and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore), the Southern African Neuroscience Society and the Wits Cortex Club invite you to the launch of The Brain Matters Seminar Series.

 

Speakers include Professor Willem Hendrik Gispen from the University of Utrecht, Professor Peter Vale from the University of Johannesburg, and Professor Linda Richter, Dr Tanya Calvey and Dr Sahba Besharati from Wits University.

 

This joint initiative will be an interdisciplinary seminar series that explores the past, present and future of neuroscience in southern Africa, with the aim of building a network of researchers that are dedicated to advancing the field in the region. There will be five bimonthly seminars held in April, June, August, October and December 2017. These seminars will cover topics that are locally relevant and internationally significant.
