- Publication in Special Issue of IBRO Report Journal
I have reached an understanding with Professor Ying-Shing Chan, the Editor-in-Chief of the IBRO Reports Journal for the publication of the Full manuscripts of Abstracts from the 14th SONA Conference (Lagos Nigeria) to be published as a Special Issue. The Special Issue will be titled “Neuroscience in Africa” and the Guest Editor to oversee this will be Professor James Olopade, the immediate past President of SONA and Chair of the LOC of the Lagos SONA Conference. The publication date of this Special Issue is planned for Q3/Q4 for 2020.
IBRO Reports is an official journal of the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) and is the sister journal of Neuroscience. https://www.journals.elsevier.
The good news is that “the IBRO Reports Journal is prepared to waive the publication fee if the research laboratory of the key/corresponding author is in a developing country”.
As this is one of the benefits of SONA membership, the SONA Treasurer via the SONA Secretariat and I will manage the confirmation of corresponding authors who would have paid their 2020 SONA dues to qualify for the waiver.
In the light of this, I will like to encourage all those whose abstracts were published and any SONA member interested in submitting full-length manuscript for this Special Issue to immediately pay their 2020 Annual dues and if possible the 2021 Annual dues in preparation to benefit from the discount for Registration fees for members against the SONA 2021 Conference in Ghana.
Professor James Olopade will be providing details on the publication of the Special Issue subsequently.
Regards
Prof Amadi O Ihunwo
Secretary-General
