SANS would like to invite you to participate in the 1ST UKZN Neuroscience Symposium which will be held on 8 June 2018 in the Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine, K-RITH Tower Building, University of KwaZulu-Natal, 719 Umbilo Road, Durban.
The theme will focus on neuroinflammation.
Please email your abstract for oral or poster presentation to Dr Lihle Qulu qulul@ukzn.ac.za. The deadline for abstract submission is 1 May 2018. Participants will be informed once their abstract has been approved by the scientific review committee.
INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS:
1. Abstract must clearly state the following
a) Abstract title (not longer than 25 words)
b) List of author(s). The name of the presenting author must appear first in the list of authors.
c) Affiliation of author(s).
d) Contact details of first author (telephone numbers, e-mail address etc.)
2. Abstracts must be in English, single line spacing, Arial font size 12.
3. The body of the text must not exceed 350 words ( excluding the information listed in point 1)
4. Where possible, please adhere to the following format for all abstracts:
a) Introduction: should be brief and include the aim of the study
b) Methods: should include description of subjects and research methodology
c) Results: describe the findings of the study supported by statistics.
d) Conclusion: provide a summary and describe the relevance of the main findings
5. Please indicate your preference for either a 10-minute oral presentation or a poster presentation. Dimensions of the poster board are A0, 1189 mm height by 841 mm width.
