The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) is dedicated to improving the health of people in South Africa, through research, innovation, development, and technology transfer. Their scope of research includes laboratory investigations, clinical research, and public health studies. SAMRC is the largest local funder of health research, medical diagnostics, medical devices, and therapeutics, and a pioneer in cutting-edge medical innovations.

The ALBA Network’s mission is to promote equity and diversity in brain sciences. ALBA believes that diversity is a fundamental component of excellence in brain sciences, and that access to education, training, resources, mentorship- and jobs should be based on an individual’s potential, not on their sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, race, nationality, religion- or culture.
UCT – Neuroscience Institute

The Neuroscience Institute at the University of Cape Town aims to advance research, training, and advocacy by creating an interdisciplinary network of scientists and clinicians who share knowledge, skills and expertise to improve lives and advance our understanding of the human brain.
