AUSTRALIA AWARDS POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS 2017

UCT academics / researchers who are citizens of Botswana; Ghana; Kenya; Madagascar; Malawi; Mauritius; Mozambique; Nigeria; South Africa; Tanzania; or Zambia are now invited to apply for an Australia Awards Post-Doctoral Fellowship.

Fellowships will be up to 2 years in total, comprised of research components in both Australia and South Africa but limited to 12 months in Australia. This Australian component of the award will be fully funded by the Program.

Some of the eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • An applicant must be a citizen of an eligible African country (i.e. Botswana; Ghana; Kenya; Madagascar; Malawi; Mauritius; Mozambique; Nigeria; South Africa; Tanzania; Zambia)
  • An applicant must be affiliated to the University of Cape Town in an academic/research capacity
  • An applicant must be at least 25 and not more than 50 years of age at the date of application
  • Host institution in Australia must be a member of the AAUN (i.e. Curtin University; Griffith University; Monash University; Murdoch University; The University of Melbourne; The University of Newcastle; The University of New South Wales; The University of Sydney; The University of Western Australia; and Western Sydney University)
  • Have been conferred a PhD
  • Field of research must be aligned to Science & Technology, Agricultural Productivity and/or Health
  • Must be able to commence their program in the academic year 2017
